Anxiety disorders affect 19% of adults each year, making them the most common mental health condition in the U.S

These journals were created from Carlos’s own painful life journey. Struggling with suicidal thoughts and unable to afford therapy or counseling at that time, he was desperate for a solution after experiencing a deep, life-altering breakup in 2017. This event symbolized yet another of his many life failures and became the final straw that broke both his will to fight for life and his spirit. It shattered any belief he had that anything good would ever happen or that life could ever go right for him. This overwhelming moment forced him to confront unresolved childhood trauma, which had been the root cause of many of his struggles.

 In the darkness of that challenging period, Carlos embarked on a nine-month journey of self-discovery that ultimately led to his transformation. The contents of these six journals are the very questions he faced while navigating his most difficult and painful challenges in a desperate attempt to save his own life. This is what makes these journals truly unique—they are grounded in real-life experiences and circumstances. These questions and techniques have been battle-tested with over 1,000 life coaching clients spanning nearly 10 years, making them deeply personal, raw, and impactful.

WHY ARE YOU JUST NOW HEARING ABOUT THE JOURNALS?

Carlos originally created the journals with a focus on helping adults track their daily mental, physical, and emotional challenges. However, in late 2022, a close friend and Head of School saw the journals and recognized their potential as a tool for her students and teachers. She believed they could be invaluable in addressing the emotional and mental needs of students and staff in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.  

This encounter led Carlos to put the launch of the journals to the general public on hold, instead adapting his program for use in schools across the country. In 2022, the Extreme Focus Journal program was introduced to four schools across Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas. By the end of its second year in 2023, the program had expanded to five states—Georgia, Arkansas, Michigan, Tennessee, and Alabama—and was being used in 40 schools. 

After three years of development and success in the educational sector, Carlos has decided to release the journals to the broader audience they were initially designed for—ADULTS.
